Ukiyo-e, one of the three great entertainments of Edo, depicted the auspicious motifs that carried people’s heartfelt wishes — flourishing business, good health, and the calling of fortune. Long regarded as a sign of rising fortune and abundance, they have been cherished to this day as art that brings luck and enriches daily life.
