Luxen Maneki is a luxury maneki-neko brand born of a ceramic culture more than a thousand years old,
handed down through Japan’s six ancient kilns.
Our first work, the Genkei Series, is set in Seto ware — one of the six ancient kilns.
Seto is the only kiln in Japan to have produced glazed ceramics continuously since the medieval era (from the 1190s),
and it shaped this country’s ceramic culture so deeply that the word “setomono” came to mean Japanese pottery itself.
Luxen Maneki carries this history — passed down across a thousand years — forward as contemporary works of craft.
The maneki-neko is far more than a simple lucky charm.
Since first appearing in the historical record in 1852, it has been cherished across Japan
as a symbol carried by the prayers of those who longed for
